Tony Konczak, a fierce competitor running out of the center position was the first non-forward to be voted into the BGSU RFC Bone Brothers Society. Tony is fifth on the career scoring list with 575 points, 15th on the career try list, was voted Rookie of the year in 1985 and Most Valuable Player in 1987. It was his “impossible kick, from an impossible angle at an impossible distance” that finished BG’s miracle come-from-behind 26 – 25 victory over Kentucky in the 1987 Midwest Championship. In 1988 he also was voted Midwest MVP, all-American and was a Woodley award finalist as the United States most valuable college player.
