Bill Cotton, a Kiwi – Bill also helped Miami University achieve MAC dominance in the mid-1970’s. Bill came to BGSU in 1981 and along with Mike Harrington and Roger Mazzarella completely transformed the club not only on the field but also off the field as well. Bill invented the concept of the spring tour, led BG into the finals of the Midwest championship on a yearly basis, and started BG’s 27 year long string of winning the MAC Championship by ironically beating his old club, Miami, in 1982 15 – 13.
